In continuing the story of poor Nell and her demon offspring, things will get even bendier.

Taking a cue from its predecessor's striking, artful one-sheet (left), THE LAST EXORCISM PART II has brought back the bend. This rendition, it's fair to say, boasts far more cheese. Although, "the second coming" tag is (maybe?) interesting. Is it purely a play on the religious aspect and return of her demon aggressor, or does the child and the group's plans for it factor heavily in this sequel. It seems they would have to, right?

THE LAST EXORCISM PART II sees new director Ed Gass-Donnelly (SMALL TOWN MURDER SONGS) team with producer Eli Roth and a returning Ashley Bell as "Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is found alone and terrified in the woods. Back in the relative safety of civilization, Nell realizes that she can't remember entire portions of the previous months, only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning."

THE LAST EXORCISM is one of the finer American horror films of recent (my review), and seems to have gone a bit unsung/underrated. Here's hoping Gass-Donnelly & co. have cooked up something of equal measure on March 1.
